POSITION OVERVIEW

Troubadour Technology is seeking a technically strong and consultative Pre-Sales Systems Engineer to support a large and complex customer and ensure that every solution we design is both technically sound and strategically aligned. This role bridges the gap between client needs and engineering execution—ideal for someone who thrives on translating business problems into robust, scalable IT solutions.

As a trusted advisor in the sales process, you’ll collaborate closely with Account Executives and clients to scope requirements, demo solutions, and craft proposals that deliver true business value.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Partner with the sales team to support discovery, qualification, and solution development
  • Conduct technical assessments and design solutions across networking, cloud, and security infrastructure
  • Lead technical presentations and product demonstrations for clients
  • Draft scopes of work, architecture diagrams, and BOMs in collaboration with engineering
  • Serve as the technical point of contact during the pre-sales cycle, from initial consultation through proposal
  • Stay current on technology trends and product capabilities relevant to Troubadour’s portfolio
  • Work hands-on with the customer beyond the sale to ensure a smooth transition and technical adoption

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • 7+ years of technical experience, with at least 2 years in a pre-sales or solution architect role
  • Strong understanding of enterprise network infrastructure, security, and cloud managed solutions
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience developing solution designs, scopes of work, and project documentation
  • Familiarity with leading vendors (Juniper, HPE, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.)
  • Certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or similar are a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
