Network Engineer – Tier 2 (Massachusetts-Based)

POSITION OVERVIEW

Troubadour Technology is hiring a motivated and detail-oriented Network Engineer to join our growing engineering team in the greater Massachusetts area. This role is ideal for someone with foundational experience in enterprise networking who’s ready to deepen their skills, contribute to impactful client projects, and learn from some of the best engineers in the business.

You’ll support implementation, troubleshooting, and day-to-day operations—playing a critical role in delivering secure, reliable networks for clients who depend on us.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Assist in configuring, deploying, and maintaining enterprise network equipment
• Support troubleshooting for routing, switching, wireless, and firewall issues
• Perform site assessments, system documentation, and device inventory
• Participate in on-site and remote implementation projects under guidance of senior engineers
• Work closely with project managers, senior engineers, and client stakeholders
• Stay up to date on technology trends and vendor best practices
• Provide on-site support for Day 2 operations when required
• Hybrid schedule – 2-3 days on-site in Greater Boston area
• Participation in on-call rotation likely

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• 5+ years of hands-on networking experience
• Working knowledge of switching, routing, VLANs, and basic firewall concepts
• Familiarity with HPE/Aruba, Juniper, or similar enterprise hardware
• Eagerness to learn and ability to follow direction while growing toward independent work
• Strong documentation, organization, and communication skills
• HPE/Juniper certification required. Other networking certifications (ie. Palo Alto, Fortinet, Arista, Extreme CISCO.) a plus
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred
